The summer of 2024 brought exciting changes for us at Mr. Gonzalez Mexican Cuisine. After five wonderful years serving Yarmouth and surrounding communities, we made the heartfelt decision to relocate to Eastern Passage, just outside of Halifax.
Since opening in 2019, Mr. Gonzalez has built a reputation for offering freshly prepared meals, with a side dish of genuine, downhome customer service. Our decision to move to the HRM comes as we look to grow the Mr. Gonzalez brand and bring our success story to a larger audience of hungry Nova Scotians.
Over the last five years, we’ve cherished every moment of our time in Yarmouth. From our first day in business where customers had lined up down the street, to winning the Ultimate Take Out Challenge in 2020, the community has embraced our passion of offering a unique dining experience inspired by my heritage and upbringing. It’s very rewarding to share a taste of my culture with every customer and I’m so grateful for the positive feedback and love we've received from Yarmouth and now in Eastern Passage.
Though focused on takeout, the new restaurant on Main Road, still reflects the heart of what makes Mr. Gonzalez special: a warm, welcoming atmosphere where every customer is treated like family. Whether you’re a regular or visiting for the first time, our online ordering system makes it easy to enjoy our signature dishes like tacos, burritos, chimangas, quesadillas and more. We’ve already been met with a lot of support and enthusiasm from those in the neighbourhood and are excited to get to know even more of you as we begin this fresh chapter.
We’ve always believed that great food can bring people together, no matter where they’re from, and we’re excited to share that with even more food lovers in Eastern Passage and beyond. We look forward to welcoming customers from Halifax and surrounding areas to experience why Mr. Gonzalez Mexican Cuisine has been a favourite for so many.
