Mr González Mexican Cuisine is proudly a Canadian Company. It was founded by Leodegario González (Leo) in February 2019. He immigrated to Canada from Mexico by the end of 2015.With the help of his wife Elizabeth, he refined the recipes to make them as authentic as possible, using local and imported ingredients.For a few months in 2019 the business was just doing catering. The purpose was to do the marketing research and find out what the possible clientele wanted to have in a Mexican restaurant.
After trying different dishes, in August 2019 the doors were opened to the public on 550 Main Street in Yarmouth, NS. The first item on the menu was build your own taco. Chorizo (homemade Mexican spicy sauce), Tinga (Smoked Chipotle chicken) and Picadillo (Ground beef with carrots and potatoes) were the first meat options. Carnitas (Mexican style pulled pork) was added in 2021.Two types of rice and two types of beans were included. A salad bar to compliment the tacos was also part of the deal. For salsas, there was a mild smoked chipotle, a medium imported green tomato and jalapenos, and spicy roasted peppers and olive oil. Habanero spicy salsa was included later.

Mr González Mexican Cuisine was proudly founded to bring delicious juicy and healthy food from Mexico to Canada. The founder’s motto is that working people, students, seniors and any patron, deserve to have authentic Mexican food, with fine ingredients and fine customer service. Fine Fast Food. (FFF) Mr González Mexican Cuisine has become an icon to the community. It has proudly hosted people from all over Canada. From BC to Nunavut. Including Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Labrador and of course all of Nova Scotia. It has also served people from other countries in America and Europe. From America, Mexico, US, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica and Colombia just to mention some. From Europe, Russia, Rumania, England, Italy, etc. Even people from Asia, Japan, China, and South Korea, including Australia. In other words, Mr González Mexican Cuisine is happily representing Yarmouth and Nova Scotia, locally and internationally.
For the time it has been opened, Mr González Mexican Cuisine has been rated with 4.9 out of 5 in Google, 5 out of 5 in Trip Advisor and Yelp. It won the “Ultimate Take-Out Challenge” for Yarmouth and the Acadian Shores in 2020, and it has recently been nominated as the Innovative or Small Business of the year held by ISANS (Immigrant Services of Nova Scotia). Soon enough, Mr González Mexican Cuisine will be expanding to other parts of Canada, bringing the same food quality and service to every location.
